Ceiling Repair and Replaster
The outcome of the plastering work is fair, although the finish is not totally even and rough in some places. The coving replacement was very disappointing. The joins were badly cut and looked like it had been done in a hurry, with large gaps and uneven joins. I was genuinely shocked that any tradesperson would have been happy to leave a job this way and not feel embarrassed by the work. I did voice my concerns to the company and they offered to come back and paint the ceiling free of charge and fill the joins in the coving the next day. The plaster was not even dry at this point and the fact that the tradesman had the intention of painting it made me lose even more faith in them to effectively put the work right. I did not trust that they would do the work to a decent standard and so declined the offer.

Chimney Stack Repair and Repointing
Barnaby has done a good job repairing and repointing our chimney stack. It was good to see a tradesman take pride in his work. I will certainly keep him in mind for any other work.
