⭐ 1 Star — AVOID Key Prep Floor Solutions Substandard Work, Broken Promises & a Costly Mess Left Behind I rarely write reviews but feel it is my responsibility to warn others before making the same mistake I did. I hired Kieron at Key Prep Floor Solutions after agreeing on a detailed and specific scope of work: • Full diamond grind • Chase and fill all visible cracks • Prime entire floor • 3mm self-levelling compound • Two-coat epoxy resin finish in RAL 1015 ivory What was actually delivered was a fraction of this. The critical 3mm self-levelling compound stage was skipped entirely — Kieron simply primed the floor and applied the epoxy straight on top. The result was completely unacceptable, and the space was left in an appalling state. Kieron claims over 15 years of industry experience. I saw no evidence of that whatsoever. This looked like the work of someone on their very first job. When I raised my concerns, he initially agreed to remove the floor and refund my initial payment. He then completely backed out of that commitment — leaving me out of pocket, without a usable space for over a week, and now facing significant additional costs to have this properly fixed by someone else. The fact that Key Prep Floor Solutions appears on Checkatrade is equally concerning. I trusted that platform as a mark of quality. That trust has been shattered. Checkatrade need to seriously review how they vet the tradespeople listed on their site. Before booking anyone from Checkatrade — or Key Prep Floor Solutions specifically — please ask for references, visit previous jobs, and get every single detail in writing. It could save you significant time, money and stress. A deeply disappointing and unprofessional experience from start to finish.
