Laminate Flooring for Kitchen/Hallway
Jon has been an absolute star and genuinly proven to us how useful a website like this is. He came to our home to check the area and submitted a quote. He is a really genuine, happy person who somehow makes a job like laying flooring sound fun. He loves what he does, and it shows massively in his work! The job was completed on budget, on time and with plenty of laughs throughout. I have recommended Jon to many people at this point, two of whom have booked in with him for their projects. Laminate Flooring for Multiple Rooms
Was told materials was £900, didn't want to give me a receipt because he had the real price trying to pocket money which materials were £500 odd, £550 odd with delivery to his address so I don't see the amount so he can pocket around £350, which he thinks i didn't know. Then he tried to get some of the remaining money left of the job after doing 2 out of 5/6 rooms before coming back (so he says) which to me was going doing a runner. I gave him an option that after every room I would pay remainder per room, but he said no he wants money before coming thinking I said I don't have the money, proved I did, then he said he's paying for extra materials, I said send me the link to pay, with no reply from him.
Jhflooring and JoinerySo I gave you a price of £1500 for materials and labour which you agreed to and asked for £900 up front which you paid thank you also there was no skirting fittedto any of the walls ( Iwill come back to this). I never at any stage did I say how much the materials were! ( for 66sqm of laminate 8mm thick and labour is a fair if not a very good price) the delivery company had delivered to my house rather than site address in error nothing I can do about that( on the delivery note it will only have qty to be delivered and no pricing standard in the industry)when I came to deliver the flooring to allow it to acclimatise no answer at the house and no response when I tried phoning I waited for 45 minutes and then left( I have all the call logs and messages aswell you have what a waste of my time and fuel ) I then had to unload my vehicle at home to at least get into a dry warm area before I came to fit. On the day I started the job I noticed that all the skirting had been fitted and made you aware you need to take it off and refit after the floors had been fitted or you will need beading to which you then tried to remove the skirting and would not remove it as it was to hard for you and asked about the cost of beading which it was then you claimed you couldn't afford it and needed to borrow money ( alarm bells) I had fitted the flooring in the 2 bedrooms upstairs and made a start on the living room which is when again you mentioned not being able to afford the beading ( again alarm bells) I did ask you for the beading money upfront as I was now getting extremely concerned about the outstanding balance being paid on completion plus the beading materials money, so rightfully as any tradesman would I asked you to pay some more money before I came back you then messaged on several occasions pleading for me to come back and trying to prove you had the money to pay the balance and as I said I wasn't prepared to do the work unless some was paid ( I would rather walk away and get stung for labour costs ) I am glad you got someone else and claimed you got everything done for less money .( I know what standard of work I deliver and it is at reasonable cost to the customer look at my reviews even though I don't use this site often all positive except yours) at no time was you ever deceived like you are insinuating. I suppose you cannot please everyone in life
Laminate Floor Laying for Two Areas
No job too small for Jon. Brilliant laying my laminate flooring and always answered questions honestly. Had a sub floor issue and needed skirting shaping for back of door. No hesitation. Top guy, highly recommend.
Solid Timber Flooring
Jon installed our flooring last year for a house we were in the process of moving into - he was very helpful in explaining different flooring options to us, and working around our move-in date so that the floor was in before we moved. One year on and the floor is still great, very happy with it.
