    Electrical Inspecting / Testing

Jermaine was very helpful and completed the job very quickly and produced the necessary reports that were required. Very happy with his communication and would personally recommend him.

    Sockets, Switches & Fittings

    Lighting & Power - Internal

    Job completed by nice guy.

    Electrical Inspecting / Testing

He did the job as agreed.

    Lighting & Power - Internal

The job was to exchange a fuses hub for modern RCBO protected, instal a visible and verifiable cold water supply earth system connected to the circuit breaker hub and replace an unearthed overhead light that was metal with a modern low watt usage plastic light. The work was all entirely satisfactory and completed as expected at a price close to the quotation. The installation of the cold water supply earth wire required the removal of carpet and inter-room carpet tack strips and room edge tack strips along the walls of 2 rooms and the hallway in order to be able to fold back the carpet and run the earth wire along existing channels in the floor joists. The electrician and his assistant appeared to have adequate tools for the job, but seem to have lacked either the experience or sufficiently high standards of quality control in the re-laying and securing of the carpet which was not well done and left clear evidence of the disturbance subsequently that would need to be corrected presumably by carpet installers. The team also do not seem to carry a vacuum allowing proper end of job cleanup, but did place discarded equipment and waste materials in a box which was left at the property for me to dispose of. Obviously someone has to do this, but the disposable stuff is of a mixed nature such that it could all be disposed of in a landfill, but in the modern era we try not to do this, we try to sort stuff into material types and dispose of it accordingly. The entirely satisfactory electrical work was therefore affected in the overall rating by the issues with cleanup and carpet re-installation. In awarding a GOOD reference the issue with cleanup and carpet has to be judged in light of accomplishing the primary goal and a rating between GOOD and OK would be the right value, but OK is probably not the right grade considering the job was not cleanup and carpet re-istallation with the electrical work having secondary importance. I dare say not everyone will agree with my assessment, but I was asked to report on the success or failure of the work, what was done well, what not so well.
