Kevin had been asked to do the skimming, painting, adding spotlights, add laminate and skirting boards in. The following are what I’d describe his quality and workmanship: Skimming. Largely good, in one room a couple walls need re-doing, however, generally happy. Downstairs the skimming is well done because he had a more experienced fellow with him. Lighting - no complaints, he added spotlights and some fixtures. Did a good job. Laminate- laminate install was poorly done. Starting to hear loud unbearable crunching sounds when stepping and bulged in areas. After he refused to come and inspect (blaming the laminate itself), I researched and found that you need to leave an expansion gaps whatsoever. So I uncovered some of the skirting to find that the laminate was flush right against the wall. In some areas breaking into it. I had to find an alternative decorator to remediate the problem which cost me hundreds to thousands more. His continual denial of any responsibility has been the biggest issue and the reason I leave this review negatively. After showing him many videos of proof with lack of expansion, then the before and after remediation, he continued to avoid responsibility. I will not be recommending him because of his stubbornness and complete lack of professionalism. Painting - was fine but left marks and splashes in places. Other - he cut my door at the bottom as it wouldn’t close because of the larger than expected skirting board. Instead of chamfering the skirting board, he thought it was acceptable to cut an inlay into my door. Wow.
