Cut Sycamore and Three Stumps
Sycamore removal – incomplete work, aggressive behaviour, false promises Dean was contracted via a quote from 1st Choice Home Improvements Ltd to fell a sycamore tree and flush-cut the stump to ground level, with site clearance included. He attended and cut down the branches, but left roughly 2 metres of two trunks standing and did not touch the stump — neither matched the agreed quote. Partway through the day he requested £200 upfront for waste disposal, then declared the job “complete” while the trunk was clearly still standing, later admitting it wasn’t finished and that he’d need to return with a different blade. Despite the incomplete work, he insisted on full payment on the spot, became verbally aggressive on the phone when I hesitated, and threatened to dump waste on my driveway if not paid in full. I paid in full only after he promised to return the following Saturday to finish. I paid the full amount of £1,150.00. He did not return on Saturday, gave a family bereavement as the reason, promised Tuesday instead, did not attend then either, and has since stopped responding to messages entirely. I’ve been left with an unfinished job I’ve already paid for in full, and no further contact from him or the business.
