Reposition Pipes and Relocate Bathroom
Very disappointing experience – incomplete work, defective plumbing and property damage I sourced John Dalton of Dovemere Ltd through this platform on behalf of my sister in law in May 2026 to carry out a number of renovation and plumbing works, including pipe relocation, skirting, kitchen refurbishment and other renovation works. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing. The plumbing work carried out by John resulted in leaks when the heating system was subsequently turned on. The leaks caused flooding to the property and damage to newly installed flooring and furniture, and created a risk of water damage to the property below. We have photographs, videos and messages documenting the issues and our attempts to contact John. A number of other works were also left incomplete, including skirting and parts of the kitchen refurbishment, despite payment having been made. We were also left with additional costs because sections of skirting had to be removed to access the leaking pipework. During the kitchen work, the newly purchased integrated microwave was also altered by John, including removal/replacement of its original plug connection, which has raised concerns about damage to the appliance and its warranty. We also discovered that items belonging to my sister in law, including bagged copper pipes and an industrial skim mixer, had been removed from the property without her permission while John had access to the property to carry out the work. She has raised this with him and requested the return of the property. Despite repeated attempts to contact John and provide evidence of the problems, we have not received an adequate response and communication has now stopped. We have retained photographs, videos, WhatsApp messages, payment records and other evidence relating to the work, damage and outstanding issues. We have also referred the matter to the platform’s dispute team and are seeking legal advice regarding the losses. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this contractor. I would strongly advise anyone considering hiring Dovemere Ltd/John Dalton to carry out thorough checks and obtain appropriate protections before making payment.
Upgrade Shower, Sink, and Toilet
John came to give us a quote for the refurbishment of our bathroom which needed all new fittings ie. shower, sink with cabinet and WC. His quote was very reasonable and we accepted. His work was perfect and he completed the job easily. He could turn his hand to any sort of work needed for the building trade and I would recommend his company to anyone who needed work done. He deserves 10/10.
Full Bathroom Renovation
I hired Dovemere to remodel my bathroom and they did a good job. They were courteous, and efficient. They finished the project on time and within budget and would recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor.
