About
Self Employed Electrician, apprentice trained by Derbyshire County Council in schools, care homes and other public buildings, qualified in 1982. Studied up to HND level, Part P registered since 2005 currently with Napit, JIB graded as Technician.
Plenty of experience in Industrial and commercial environments but these days I mainly concentrate on domestic work local to Derby.
Previously spent many years as engineer on ocean going, environmental research vessels worldwide. Also touring shows, events and broadcast electrician (London 2012 Olympics, 2014 Commonwealth Games, Euro 08 Soccer Austria, 2016 F1 Grand Prix Silverstone, Glastonbury, Download, Cirque Du Soleil etc.)
VSO volunteer electrical instructor in Kenya 1989-92 in a rural polytechnic, instructing Kenyan lads in preparation for Government trade tests.
Previously a solar PV installer until the cuts in FIT tariffs in 2011.
Prefer smaller jobs these days, no rewires please, I no longer perform EICR'S (electrical Installation Condition reports). Can also undertake basic handyman jobs, no painting or tiling though.
My phone is an old Nokia 1208 so texts and calls only please, I respond to emails from home on laptop so may take a little while.

Repair Outside Light & Wall Socket
Dave was helpful, quick, came to see the jo, fitted the work around other jobs, to complete it in a short time. He made sure there were no problems with the wiring, re-fitted the socket amd ran an appliance from it. He charged a very reasonable amount for this work, studed my choices of a new outside light and gave useful information on them, gave me a quote for providing the light and fitting it, a very reasonable charge and did the work there and then, with a follow up enquiry about my level of satisfaction with the light. He provided his details for payment by bank transfer, which went through without issue. I would be pleased to use his services again.

Hardwire EcoFlow Battery in Garage
Dave came to install an EcoFlow Stream Ultra battery system for me, this involved installing breakers and monitors in two different consumer units which Dave did made a very neat job of both. Really nice guy and was good value for money, I will certainly not hesitate to call him again in the future and recommend him to others.

Dave has recently done some work wiring up my new kitchen, and in the past has done routine electrical maintenance at Derby Rugby Club. Also fitted electric heaters in changing rooms. All his work is up to standard. He is also punctual, and communicates well, keeping you upto date on progress and plans. I'd certainly use him again.

Dave has performed numerous electrical jobs at our property including commission of hot tub, various external spot lights, internal lighting and lastly an EV car charger all to an excellent standard. Highly recommended.
