Install Oak Staircase Rail and Spindles
We had a new banister with spindles installed. Although initially happy with the work, the finishing touches were of poor standard. There are large gaps between the wood and the plaster at the top of the stairs and due to the spindles being there, it cannot be improved without taking it apart again. Some of the mitres are not straight with visible gaps between the joining parts. There is also a bent nail under the banister and the ceiling/wall has been cracked where a screw as been placed incorrectly. There were pencil markings left on the oak. The existing bannister rail was meant to be removed and agreed at initial quotation and again during the works being completed, however this was not done. Additionally, we had to remove the rubbish which was not communicated upon initial quotation. The Work remains unfinished, despite multiple opportunities and arranged times for the joiner to attend. Unfortunately, they have failed to turn up without proper explanation. This has caused significant inconvenience, frustration, and disappointment. We expected a higher standard of reliability.
