Comprehensive Bathroom Repair Work
I hired Ricky to fix several issues following leaks in my bathroom and kitchen. The scope of work included leaks affecting the toilet, shower and kitchen sink, as well as repairing my bath panel, tiling behind a built-in toilet, and regrouting bathroom tiles. Positives: The quote was fair and reasonably priced for the work required. Communication from the company secretary was excellent throughout — helpful, responsive and professional. The kitchen sink leak was successfully fixed. Negatives: They were clearly juggling multiple jobs at the same time and appeared extremely distracted while on-site, spending a lot of time on the phone to other employees rather than focusing on the work. The job was estimated as a one-day job, but they had to leave early due to an issue with their van (which was outside of their control). Follow-up visits were repeatedly cancelled or delayed, with other jobs consistently being prioritised over mine. The quality of the work that was done was poor. Tiles were stuck down on top of sponges, grout was simply layered over old grout instead of being properly removed and redone and the silicone around the bath was messy and actually recreated a leak rather than fixing it. Outcome: Due to the ongoing delays, cancellations, and declining confidence in the workmanship, I chose to terminate the job and only paid the 50% deposit. What should have been a one-day job turned into a couple of weeks of uncertainty and no-shows. In the end, the only completed and satisfactory outcome was the kitchen leak repair — and I was left with additional stress, extra costs and having to redo some of the work myself. Feedback: Ricky was very approachable and his staff were genuinely helpful, which makes this experience disappointing rather than hostile. My advice would be to avoid taking on more jobs than can realistically be managed and to focus on delivering good-quality work without delays. With better planning and attention to detail, this could have been a very different experience.
