Narrowboat Door Locks and Bolts Replacement
This is the first time I have had the sad duty of giving an "Unacceptable" rating to ANY trade that I have ever had experience with. Initially it appeared that everything was proceeding well on Monday morning, 9th March. It was not until after Dean had left that, when I checked the work he had done, it was to find two elements of the job had been left in a 100% unsatisfactory state. First, although he appeared to be carrying out the work on fitting the new lock to the outside of the stern door of my narrowboat, it turned out to be purely cosmetic, ie, a new lock had NOT in fact been fitted thus leaving my boat insecure as it meant I was not able to lock the door from the outside, only from the inside. But it was the other fault that caused me the greatest concern. Again it was not until after Dean had left that when I proceeded to turn the new handle of the new internal lock from almost the top of the galley steps, I was alarmed to find that it was completely loose in that it actually and all too easily came right out of its socket, meaning that I COULD easily have done myself a serious injury by falling right backwards off the galley steps onto the hard floor. I do hope it could not be described as a potential death trap even? I was certainly very lucky. Dean did apologise via text and eventually returned two days later to rectify these faults but he was in a most subdued mood. I have subsequently found out that he had failed on both occasions to enter his details into the Visitors book at this marina's Reception as he should have done as a tradesman.

He contacted me and arranged a time. He was bang on time and explained how he would carry out the repair and asked me if I agreed. He was a very pleasant person and I would not hesitate to engage him again. Hughie.
Fix Conservatory Sliding Door
Both inspection and fixing appointments were kept and on time. Phoned shortly before arrival on both occasions and cleaned up superbly when job completed. Very pleasant manner and would undoubtedly recommend him to anyone else.
Replace Garden Shed Lock
Timely; thoroughly professional. I would highly recommend.
Repair Front Sliding Door Issue
found Dean to be honest and straightforward. Very happy with his work.
