Avoid at all cost stole £400 and a large quantity of paving slabs missing. William (City Paving & Maintanance) seemed to know his stuff and provided the cheapest quote as he was going to save costs by having his own digger and grab lorry rather than relying on skips. William insisted that no payment was required up front. Before arriving on day one I get a call and a number of messages asking me to transfer £400 as the fencing supplier needs payment upfront. I wasn’t happy too pay before the work had started so delayed the payment until they had finished the first days work. William was never seen again after this. I’m now £400 out of pocket plus about 30 paving slabs I asked to be kept have gone missing. William won’t answer txt’s or phone calls and the only time I have managed to get through from different phones he has made up lies about his van being stolen, traveling back to Ireland for family issues and the ground being a bit wet to dig in. I never want to harm anyone business and reputation but after six weeks or trying to get William back and the job completed I don’t have any other options open to me.
