Lay Artificial Grass and Level Ground
Paul is friendly, polite, and pleasant to deal with. However, several issues during my project left me feeling disappointed with the overall experience. The final cost was approximately 33% higher than the original quotation. While I understand that additional work can sometimes be necessary, the main reason given was the need for extra Type 1 material, which I believe should have been assessed more accurately at the quotation stage. The estimated labour time also increased, but aside from one additional day required to install the extra Type 1 stone, it was not clear to me what justified the additional labour costs. I also purchased the grass and paving slabs myself, and all deliveries to my property were completed without any access issues. However, I was charged for failed delivery attempts relating to the Aquaflow sand, which I was told could not access the site. Given that other deliveries were made successfully, I found this charge difficult to understand. In the end, one tonne of Aquaflow was supplied from local supplier, and additional standard grit was then used instead. Since completion, walking on parts of the artificial grass produces cracking or crunching sounds underneath, which has left me concerned that the installation was not carried out as originally planned. I was also disappointed that some new slabs I had intended to use on other side of the garden were removed and taken away without first checking with me. During the installation, I raised concerns about hollow areas beneath some of the slabs. I was reassured that this was acceptable, but I remain concerned about the long-term durability and quality of the finished work. Overall, communication throughout the project was courteous and professional, but I was left disappointed with aspects of the project management, cost control, and workmanship.
