About

My name is Jamie, and I am the Director of Blue Rose Group.

We began our journey in 2023 with Blue Rose Renovations, focusing primarily on residential building and refurbishment projects. In 2025, we expanded with the formation of Blue Rose Developments Ltd, allowing us to take on a broader range of work, including public sector projects, restaurant and shop fitting, alongside our continued domestic services.

Today, Blue Rose Group provides a comprehensive range of building and renovation services, covering all aspects of the professional construction industry. As we continue to grow, we aim to expand further into landscaping and groundwork services, all under the trusted Blue Rose name.

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality workmanship, reliability, and a professional service from start to finish. Whether it’s a small one-day job or a full property renovation, every project is approached with the same attention to detail, care, and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Our team covers all areas of the building and renovation trade, including painting and decorating, carpentry, plastering, tiling, flooring, kitchen and bathroom installations, and full property refurbishments.

We believe that clear communication, thorough preparation, and completing work to a high professional standard are key to achieving the best results for our clients.

At Blue Rose, our goal is simple: to deliver quality workmanship you can trust—on time, on budget, and with respect for your home.

If you would like to discuss any upcoming projects, please feel free to get in touch.

Kind regards,
Jamie Dunbar
Director

    House Painting and Minor Repairs

While the decorators on site were polite, respectful, and lovely to work with, the overall management, timeline, and financial practices of the owner were deeply unprofessional and caused us immense stress. The project was initially quoted to take two weeks, with an additional three days agreed upon for extra work in the kitchen. We later added the painting of five internal doors and explicitly asked if this would impact the timeframe and we were assured it would not. Despite this, the job dragged on for five weeks. The initial schedule was good as the decorators came every day for the first couple of weeks. However once we paid in full, their schedule became completely inconsistent. They stopped showing up for days at a time and Jamie would confirm that someone was definitely coming tomorrow, only for no one to show up. We were left constantly having to chase him just to find out if anyone was actually coming or how long the remaining work would take. The final quality was sloppy in several areas. The finishing on the woodwork was poor, and the team missed several obvious cracks. To their credit, they corrected these areas after we raised the issue, but standard prep work shouldn't require constant client supervision to be done right. The kitchen cabinets were sanded and painted, but the job was done so poorly that the paint began peeling immediately. When we pointed this out, we were told it was our fault for "using the kitchen too soon." We hadn't even used it at that point as the handles were removed and the cabinets were shut. While they attempted to fix it by re-sanding and adding another layer of paint, the finish remains extremely poor, bobbly, and peeling all over. However worse than the operational delays was the relentless financial pressure. After signing, the required deposit was unexpectedly increased from 30% to 50% and throughout the project, we were bombarded with messages requesting extra payments outside our agreed schedule to cover basic running costs and wages. While this did not change our total contract price, it completely destroyed our trust. It felt as though we were being forced to advance money just to keep our job moving or worse, to cover their other clients' unpaid bills. On site, we were repeatedly reassured that if we didn't like something, it could be changed. When we weren't happy with one of our original colour choices, Jamie agreed to repaint it if we paid for the new paint. We selected a premium paint brand, but Jamie suggested colour-matching it through a cheaper brand instead to save costs and charged us for the cheaper option. However the colour match was completely wrong, not just a slightly different shade, but an entirely different colour. Because it was their error, they had to buy the original expensive paint to fix it. We felt we shouldn't have to pay for their colour-matching mistake, but after an intense back-and-forth, we compromised and paid for the paint. Despite us paying for the materials and never being told labour would be an issue, the owner later weaponized this against us, claiming the company lost money on our job. We would have happily paid for extra labour upfront if it had been properly communicated, but blaming us for their own mistake was entirely unfair. Most concerningly, while I was at work and unable to answer my phone, Jamie called my partner directly and asked for a substantial £2,600 personal business loan under false pretenses. He promised to paint a few doors for free in exchange for the favour, but later tried to back out of the agreement and withhold £1,250 of the repayment when we asked for our money back. It took immense stress, endless arguments, and constant chasing to finally recover our money. At the end of the project, we waited for a final walkthrough to confirm that everything was completed to standard and to address a few finishing touches. There was clearly a breakdown in internal communication, as the team seemed to think the job was already done. It took days of chasing just to get someone back to fix tiny details, clear the trade waste from our property, and provide an accurate invoice for our insurance. Looking back, we should have listened to our instincts and cancelled the contract right at the start. The red flags were there immediately - from the sudden deposit hike to the initial delays. We gave the company the benefit of the doubt, but it turned into an unbelievably stressful experience. While the decorators on site were pleasant to work with, the owner's management made this a project we deeply regret taking on.

This is out of context and not factual and I have the workman who was there to confirm. The paint that was the wrong colour was based on colours you gave us. I still have the original messages and this happned in 2 rooms. We colour matched what you sent us then the colours you chose were completely different. The loan was agreed between me and your partner Po and in return we painted £1250 worth of doors and frames for free for you as it helped us out at the time. The repayment was paid back into the same account within a week i have the record of it. Intrem payments were made and agreed because there was added work to the scope in the kitchen cabinets and also the changes in colours etc. I also had 2 people not want to return to the house due to your partner smoking what he did and i expressed my concerns about this and found it unprofessional to work around. We have completed images and videos of the work and po told us he was very happy with everything, so the review is not fully factual and I have reported to myjobquote for them to look into. I also did a final walk around with one of my painters with your partner who i did deal with alongside you and he was happy with the works.

    Exterior House Painting and Woodwork

In June 2026 Jamie and his team carried out the full exterior painting of the front and back of our house. I have scored the work as excellent. However there are caveats . Firstly I was unhappy with the delays caused by initially hiring the incorrect height ladders and then requests for additional advanced payments. In my opinion if a accurate assessment was made at the start of the job . The correct ladders would have been hired. This also allows for the subsequent it seemed (national )shortage of triple height ladders . However, the delays were communicated to me at all times for which I give Jamie due credit. The request for additional advances is another issue I found irritating although it did not change the overall amount charged. I did feel we were being used to subsidise other jobs. I do understand that they may have been a "cash flow" issue with the company . However , this should be accommodated by the company and not by the client . I will end this review by saying the work carried out was outstanding with a very co - operative and friendly team who were very efficient and professional . Thank you Blue Rose Group

Thanks Neville for the review, I understand with the ladders situation and I did send the emails from them to show you the issues I had but fully understand its frustrating but also the delays were minimal. Intrem paymnet made did help with progress and was appreciated but did fund your project only that did in the end cost more than I quoted. But the main part is the job was done great and you was happy with the finish. We also did work In the heatwave to complete your works.

Wallpaper Removal and Re-papering Two Rooms

Blue Rose Group have done an excellent job in decorating both my living room and my main bedroom. The work in the living room was to strip and re-wallpaper the walls under the dado rail which has really updated the room. The work done in the Bedroom was more complex as it was repapering and creating a feature wall, painting all other walls, and all woodwork in the bedroom which has totally revamped the room. Although there was a slight delay in starting the project, the Jamie, Mickey and Steve who undertook the work were excellent and worked very hard to get the job completed as soon as possible. They were all polite, helpful and respectful of my property at all times and I would definitely recommend Blue Rose Group to anyone else in future.
