With over 30 years of experience in the building industry, I provide high-quality workmanship across a wide range of home improvement and electrical services. I began my career as a qualified Carpenter and Joiner and worked as a kitchen and bathroom fitter for MFI before continuing to build a successful private business after the company closed.
Throughout my career, I have completed projects of all sizes, from home extensions and loft conversions to kitchens, bathrooms, and general property improvements. This has given me extensive experience in all aspects of domestic building work, including electrical and plumbing installations. Today, I primarily specialise in home improvements and electrical work, allowing me to focus on delivering exceptional results in these areas.
I have been with the NICEIC since 2005 and I am committed to maintaining the highest professional standards and regularly update my qualifications to stay current with industry regulations. I am also qualified to install unvented hot water cylinders.
Much of my work comes from repeat customers and personal recommendations, which I believe reflects the quality, reliability, and attention to detail I bring to every job. I am fully insured and happy to provide references from previous clients on request.
I pride myself on being honest, approachable, and reliable. From the initial enquiry through to project completion, I am always happy to offer advice, explain the work clearly, and ensure my customers feel confident and informed every step of the way. Steve has done two conversions for me: a loft conversion and a Barn conversion. They were both done to an excellent standard with a careful eye on cost, great communication and a consultative approach. Steve has also done numerous other large-scale and challenging jobs for me across general building, heating and electrics. He is highly skilled and qualified in many disciplines and can tackle anything I thrown at him. I cannot recommend Steve highly enough.

Steve is an excellent carpenter who takes pride in his work. He charges very fairly and gets the job done in excellent time. I would not hesitate to recommend him having used his services twice now, and have already booked him for a third job.

Steve and his unbeatable team have been with me for 12 years. I had a very derelict 17th century cottage in serious need of renovation. Steve came highly recommended to me, and I am over the moon with my cottage 12 years on. The renovation had to be done from ground up, literally. The Lounge, had to be taken down and rebuilt. It now has a beautiful 'vaulted.' ceiling with wood beams. An extension erected for a utility room. Huge glass doors to my lounge which are a delight in the summer. The whole cottage was in the dark ages and needed to be completely rewired, replumbed. I had underfloor heating installed throughout. No stone was left unturned and I am delighted with the result. If you are not happy with something Steve will go the extra mile to see that he gives you exactly what you want. He is highly skilled, a qualified electrician, plumber and carpenter. He is multi skilled and it shows. His labour is very competitively priced too. I could not have found a better builder anywhere. I lived in London, and learned, to my cost, how rogue builders can be slipshod, inept and expensive. If I need advice or help, Steve is my go to.... and he never disappoints. Totally honest, reliable and a craftsman of integrity. He listens if you have concerns and advises options for you to consider. My cottage is now my joy. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
