Concrete Base for Hot Tub/Spa
Quote process was quick and timeley. But thats the only thing that was up to standard. The job was to dog foundation for a 6x3 hottub. Due to having a lot of compressed hardcore on day one we decided to make it an easier tob and add the slab on too rather than rigging. The frame got built and then he got materials delivered, error one of many, he ordered two bags of ballast less than two tonne even though every calculator says mon 3.5, it ended up taking 4 tonne. He also only ordered one sheet of rebar 3x2 even though its 6x3 I managed to get more materials delivered same day, although he didn't have an account or any means to pay (even though he had quoted for materials) So i paid for them(i will deduct that from the 600 he quoted in materials). He then moaned about having to work a long day to get it done, if its not laid in one slab it has no structural integrity didnt seem to bother him. I wish thats where this cluster stopped but it doest, his mixer then broke leaving the job half complete. He then turned up next day with another mixer why he didn't go get it prior day and finish is a mystery to me. He then laid the second half. The first half is now sagging and not level where its dripped down the unfinised end. He finishes the second half and floats it nicely, stating he didn't float the other side as he forgot it the day before. So one end is smooth the other is stoney and harsh finish. We then debate that its level, he lays the level over then join and there is a 1inch gap he felt was acceptable. I am now gonna have to get someone to come out and either slab it or screed to get it level. He quoted for a job he wasn't skilled for, couldn't even order enough materials, forgot tools and had a mixer break. Would not recommend
Repair Car-Damaged Garden Wall
Andy Middleton did a great job of repairing our low garden wall (it had been knocked by a car). He worked quickly and tidily, and the work was done in just a few minutes. I highly recommend him.
