Repair Leak Under Washing Machine
I was told there was no call out charge. On arrival, the polite engineer advised me an investigation charge of £72 was required if I wanted a repair quote. I paid the £72, but decided to replace the £9 water hose myself, instead of paying the additional £150 quoted. The investigation charge was not mentioned, at the time the no call out charge was.
Semico Plumbers LtdThank you for your honest review. We would like to clarify that there was no call-out fee. After attending the property, our engineer advised that an investigation was required to identify the cause of the issue. Once the fault had been identified, you were quoted £150 in total, including the investigation, labour and the required part. You explained that, as you are a builder, you preferred to purchase the approximately £9 part and complete the repair yourself, which we completely respect. As a professional company, while we can offer a free call-out, we are unfortunately unable to carry out diagnostic and investigation work free of charge. The investigation involves the engineer’s time and expertise in identifying the problem and explaining the repair required. We are pleased that our engineer was polite and professional during the visit, and we believe the charges and options provided were fair and clearly explained before proceeding. Thank you again for your feedback. Semico Plumbers
