Was quoted for a kitchen tiling job. When he arrived he said he usually tiles from sheets not individual tiles. I had marble tiles which he then said he's never used before. Tony started cutting them but broke around 40 as he was using the wrong cutter. When he did cut them, none were straight or the correct height. He then stuck about 15 of the tiles on back to front which meant the rough side was facing forward. I asked him to remove these and re do them. He changed 4/15 and left the rest. We also discussed spacing and I said the smaller the grouting the better. He didn't grout at all and placed the tiles next to each other. There are around 20 tiles that are not flat. So we move on to this next bit. He arrived 2 weeks later to finish the job off with a mate. When he arrived, I asked him to remove 2 of the tiles and replace them as the pattern didn't look right aesthetically. He said 'yeah. I think that's looks ok though'. I asked him if I could arrange the tiles. He agreed and after her cut the tiles (which I marked up) I asked him to put them in random order not using the same colours. This was not done and I now have areas that are all the same colours rather than mixed. The tiles I measured are the correct height and have not left a 1cm gap at the top where as the tiles he laid previously have a 1cm gap plus very rough edges. He has even left out 2 tiles right in the centre of the wall which looks odd. (I didn't notice this until he left as his departure was very dramatic). So I left him to continue with the work on his second afternoon. When he had finished he called me and said 'ALL DONE'. I said great and looked at the tiles. He had no grouted them at all. I asked if he was going to grout them and he completely switched. He said that I didn't wanted them grouted which he thought was strange. There was a total miscommunication there and dispute him going to the shops to get me grout, he believed I didn't want them grouted. Total nonsense. He stormed out saying I KNEW YOU WEREN'T GONNA PAY ME. I KNEW IT. I'LL SEND YOU MY BANK DETAILS AND IF YOU DON'T PAY, I'LL TAKE YOU TO THE SMALL CLAIMS COURT. I had already paid him £200 out of £300 so owed him £100 I was so shocked at his exit but had a good look at the tiles. What an absolutely poor job he has done. With the plug sockets, instead of screwing them back in, he put a filler type material to hold it together with duct tape holding it on with fake screw heads in the screw hole area. He told me not to take the duct tape off for a few hours but a neighbour came in and said he couldn't see a screw in one so he took it off and the socket came out. Now when are sockets not screwed in? It's because he didn't cut the tiles properly and therefore couldn't screw the sockets back in. Once he was home, he bombarded me with childish texts and threatened me that if I didn't pay up, he would go down other roots. I've had to report him to the police. He asked me to pay him half. I've ended up paying him £80 more out of £111 despite the fact that I've had to pay an electrician to sort out the dangerous electric sockets (3 of them) and another tiler to tidy up his mess. DO NOT USE THIS MAN. I pay for a service and I expect a good job done. He hears but doesn't listen. If only I could post a video of his work. My brother who lives up north has seen the video and is absolutely disgusted with the shoddiness of his work and his childish, aggressive manner to a woman. You may read this and say it's only one poor review and you always get one who complains BUT he had no idea how to cut tiles straight, how to position them and how to make the job look neat. I never leave bad reviews but I am disgusted as I paid a lot of money for my tiles and he had no clue how to treat them. Maybe he's good at other types of work but as a tiler- BAD. And also very unprofessional too. His wife even contacted me to request the balance and said she'd come and finish the work off. No thank you. That's not the way to deal with paying clients. Unprofessional and sub standard job

We engaged Anthony to retile our hallway, rip out 3 wardrobes, install 1 wardrobe, replace skirting, paint 5 rooms (including the woodwork) and a banister, patch up several holes, hang multiple light fixtures and large paintings. He honoured his quote, arrived on time and worked long hours in order to meet our deadline (including weekends) and is a very hard worker and a pleasant person - which is so important considering they are in your home for extended periods of time. Throughout the project, we ended up having to add on work here and there and Anthony would always quote us first and made sure we were ok with it before starting work, which ensured there was no dispute in costs. He was also very responsive throughout and was able to advise us on materials we needed to buy. Overall we are happy with the work and it was done to a good standard.

Tony did a brilliant job even though it was more than he had anticipated. Stuck to his quote, worked weekends, and finished it to a high standard. Added bonus is that he’s also a top guy. Would happily recommend him to anyone.

Anthony repaired and replace outdoor window sills and smoothed and painted the outside walls of our house. He was personable, reliable and completed the work to a high standard. We would use him again.

Anthony did a brilliant job and made our conservatory a room we can actually use, and in fact we’ve used it non stop since he worked on it! Anthony communicated really well with me throughout the whole process, turned up on time to work, and was courteous the whole time he was in our house. He ensured the work was done in time for our Daughters’ party to take place, despite an unexpected problem with our existing plaster which delayed the job. In regard to this, Anthony kept me updated throughout, sending me photos and videos of the issue while I was at work, and advising me on the best course of action, and he was able to fix the issue. He was also very fair on price. We have already been speaking with him regarding providing quotes to do further works in our house. My Husband and I would recommend Anthony to anyone looking at improving their home.
