I am a professional horticulturist and grounds maintenance specialist with over 23 years’ experience in the industry. I began my career as an apprentice in February 2002, gaining hands-on experience from the ground up and developing a strong practical skill set, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of land and landscape management.
Throughout my career, I have worked across a wide range of environments including cemeteries, public open spaces, parks, industrial sites, and commercial grounds. I have extensive experience delivering high standards of grounds maintenance within local authority settings, where reliability, health and safety, and respect for sensitive sites are essential.
I have been part of a Britain in Bloom award-winning team on multiple occasions, contributing to sites that achieved national recognition for their presentation, planting, and overall environmental quality. I have also been involved in work that led to Cemetery of the Year recognition, where attention to detail, dignity, and consistent high standards are critical.
Alongside routine grounds maintenance, I have a strong background in planting and the design of flower beds, including seasonal displays, perennial planting schemes, and long-term bed layouts. I take pride in creating attractive, well-balanced planting that enhances public spaces while remaining practical to maintain and suitable for the site and its users.
My approach is practical, honest, and professional. I value good communication, consistency, and doing the job properly first time. Whether working independently or with clients and stakeholders, I aim to provide a dependable, high-quality service tailored to each site’s specific needs.
