My name is Faith Stewart, I am 16 years old and live in Fauldhouse, and my dream is to be an joiner, I have just under two months left at school, I finish on the 26th of June, I am currently taking a construction course in school and am about to sit my third scholar test, I passed the first two, which I was pleased with, I am guaranteed to get my CSCS card at the end of the course, which in preparation for that I have bought the app and test myself ever night doing them until I get full marks, I also do health and safety tests in school to help prepare us for scholar and CSCS, in school we do an equal amount of health and safety and hands on, on the side of school I have a part time job to help me pay my moped insurance and to help me save up for tools, the course and job have both showed me how to manage time and deadlines, responsibility, how to work in a team or solo, and most importantly dedication when doing a task, to finish it, and to meet expectations. I also have a moped that I saved up for and bought myself, as I didn't like having to rely on public transport as it wasn't reliable enough , I enjoy having the freedom and independence that it gives me, and am willing to travel for work, I really enjoy joinery and I want nothing more than too be given the opportunity to show I am just as good as any boy, just because I am a girl I feel like I have to work double as hard as a guy does just to show that I am good enough or just as good as them, I am the person who doesn't stop trying even if I have done a good job at something the next day I will try and be better than the day before, good just isn't good enough, I want to look back and say wow I really done that, or I have accomplished that. Being a girl does not mean I am not physically capable. Woman can succeed in trade careers, and I am confident in my ability to work hard and perform to a high standard. I just hope that I can be given the opportunity to show that.
