EICR Certificate for House
EICR priced for £230 after completion it led to unexpected extra work and high costs.hope you don’t rip off other people.
Electric Mann LimitedThis customer is not aware of how an EICR works or what it is. He posted for and agreed for the EICR. He wanted to know the price. I asked him how many circuits in the consumer unit. Price is dependent on the size of the consumer unit. He didn't know. His tenant is a East European and he couldn't communicate with her. I agreed to attend, see the board and text the price to him. He agreed with a thumbs up and "go ahead". I carried out an extensive EICR on a consumer unit with 10 circuits, faulty RCD and overrated MCBs. Consumer unit was also constructed of a combustible material. All these and other faults led to an unsatisfactory EICR. I sent him an invoice and the EICR. I recommended a NEW up to date consumer unit as it wasn't worth repairing the old one and still having a poor consumer unit. The cost of replacing the consumer unit with a 12 way MCBs and dual RCD and SPD consumer unit is around £600. He expected to have a SATISFACTORY EICR including a NEW consumer unit for £230.00. Unbelievable. When I tried to explain how an EICR works he started to swear at me so I put the phone down and WhatsApped him to stop swearing. I suspect this may end up in court as he has paid. I'm looking forward to it as it's all recorded in WhatsApp.
