Shaun Duffy, aged 40, skilled workman with a blue CSCS card and working-at-heights specialist, who takes the greatest pride in the knowledge and productivity of my trade. I believe I have the skill set, knowledge, and drive that would be an asset to any company—while also making me feel part of something bigger. Ultimately, I thrive on progression.
My recent role consisted of building and maintaining a well-respected company within the Midlands, achieving registration with NFRC, CHAS, Safe Contractor, and Constructionline Silver, while also working with Trading Standards and age-related concerns across the region.
Although money is not what drives me, I do wish to be in a position that appreciates the qualifications I hold—such as asbestos awareness, abrasive wheels, CDM regulations and management certificates, among many others—and uses them to its advantage, while offering a decent and respectful level of pay.
With 23 years of experience in built-up felt roofing (qualification in 2003), roll-and-pour and torch-on systems, ICO/ICOPAL, Bauder, Technonicol, cut-to-falls, and handrail systems, I possess a huge portfolio of projects, including an NFRC‑awarded project in Stratford-upon‑Avon (2,000 sqm) and a 15,000 sqm project completed with three felters in three months—among many others.
I also have 23 years of experience in industrial roofing and cladding, including safety netting, Giromax, Plygene gutter liners, and lots of documented evidence.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked closely on various social housing contracts, serving as the face of a great service. I’ve maintained a 70% first-fix rate for social housing works, completing 3,500 jobs in that time. Of the jobs quoted, 27% were won. Only 3% of jobs were completed outside the target timeframe—often due to external factors.
