This was a very disappointing experience. Shawn came round and provided us a quote for the job, which we happily agreed to and seemed to be fairly priced and comparable to other quotes received. The work was carried out over a two-day period and Shawn appeared to be a friendly, knowledgeable, and a professional in his field. At the end of the second day after Shawn had packed up all his equipment and after we had paid him the agreed amount. He pointed out that the patches on the wall (which had to be lightly plastered due to damage) were nothing to worry about and would soon dry and if there were any issues to just contact him and he would come back out to fix an issues. We took Shawn at his word. This was a mistake. The following morning, we noticed the patches were still on the wall, and in fact looked worse now that they had dried. Not only this but we also noticed heavy brush marks on almost every wall, roller patterns on two main walls and what looked like scratches above the skirting. All very amateur mistakes. We decided to reach out to Shawn to see when he could come back to fix the issues. Since last week when this job was carried out, I have text Shawn a total of five times, rang him four times and left three answerphone messages. At first, I thought he may just be busy and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but as the week wore on it soon become apparent that we would never hear from him again. In retrospect I now feel Shawn saw this as an easy weekend job that he could make some quick money and never had any intention of finished what he started. I just wish he were honest about the situation and had told us if he wasn’t up to the job. I am now frustrated, out of pocket for an unprofessional job and in need of another painter to come round and fix these issues and hope this does not happen again. We had almost guaranteed Shawn more work early next year too, which makes the whole situation even more maddening. If I were you, I would look for another decorator as I would hate to know that someone else had gone through all this frustration and essentially paid a handyman to paint their home very poorly. I am now in the process of trying to recover some of the money through my bank to pay for another painter. What a ridiculous position to be in. Maybe this review will finally get his attention, although I doubt it. BEWARE!

They did not do the job because, despite getting in touch quickly, they were slow to arrange a visit to do the job, and despite confirming the time on the morning that they were expected, they did not turn up to provide confirmation of the telephone quote. I did a 60mile round trip to meet this person and they did not even have the courtesy to respond to my calls/texts to explain if there had been a problem. Unreliable at the First hurdle, therefore I did not use.

The work was excellent painting putting up coving & laying vinyl flooring. Will certainly use his service again.

He was so punctual and informative of his plans etc I knew exactly what he was doing and when!! His work is extremely satisfactory and his cleanliness is first class. A job well done!!
