We’re a specialist fibre and data network cabling company, offering a range of electrical services through our NIC approved electricians.
Colenet was founded by a qualified electrician with extensive experience in CCTV, fire alarms, and telephone cabling. In 1985, they formed a partnership to carry out installations of telephone cabling, this opportunity came about due to the changes in BT who lost the monopoly of telephone cabling in 1984.
Opportunities were seen in supporting telephone equipment sales companies, such as Mitel and Telephone Rentals, offering a quality and reliable installation services. We continued trading and took on data dabling starting with IBM Type 1, before integrating and moving onto Cat 3, ultimately leading to installing fibre Optics and up to Cat 7 Data Cabling.
