    Brick / Block Paving

They were asked to relay the patio and build a brick wall around the patio which they did in 3 days. Whilst the patio is ok, it contained a step down from the French windows to the main area, which originally was faced with the same paving stone used for the original patio. We expected the same look with the new stone but instead of the same look but what we got was new paving on top and for the facing a mixture of the new bricks and untidily filled in mortar. They did redo the step with new paving and attempt to face it with new paving but did not align the bricks on the step with the new patio slabs or fill in the empty gap behind the step so only half of the facing is physically attached to anything. They left large untidy gaps around the facing bricks filled in with mortar. We will have to have the step redone. We asked James to create a border for the beds with the leftover bricks of just one course. We decided to lay the bricks on their side to gain more height and asked the bricky to do this. James insists that we were given professional advice that we should not do this but this so called conversation never took place. We have asked James to come and look at the finished job but he keeps saying the job is of the highest standard and that appears to be the end of the story as far as he is concerned. The level of the course of bricks laid are uneven to the naked eye, the gapping between the bricks is inconsistent and the so called straight lines are not straight. The bricklayer was either disinterested in the appearance of the finished job or under pressure to finish quickly and move onto the next job.

    Brick/Block Paving

Very well done and the drive was completed on schedule.

    Paths

Needed to point and repair a pathway in bad condition. They did a great job and even a few extras for the same price. Tidy and polite workmen. Would recommend them.
