Alec gave a great quote inclusive of labour and materials. I took over sourcing materials, costs shot up. Alec works a 10 hour day and in the beginning does a reasonable job, but problems started when he urinated in my neighbors garden, my labourer walked off the job to to homophobic "jokes" for the last day I was going to be absent, so I paid in advance plus a gratuity as besides the mess, the work was a reasonable standard. I have never seen Alec again, he disappeared with my money, my keys, a vape pipe I lent him to stop him smoking in front of my kids. Alecs work is a reasonable standard, but you need to watch him like a hawk, clean his mess behind him and NEVER pay him even a day in advance.
