    Warm roof advice/quotes

    Window Specialists

Looking for advice on putting a warm roof of my conservatory. What is the best type of roof? And do I need a new frame for a 2003 conservatory. I've seen on websites it averages under 15k, but even before a local tradesmen saw it he quoted 20 to 30k.

    "Hi there
Don’t waste your money on useless advice. The best thing to do is reuse your existing frame. Remove the glass, line the top of the frame with ply then membrane then lightweight roof tiles. From inside line with celotex then plasterboard.
We can provide you a quote to undertake this work and it would have the same U values as a Guardian roof equivalent at a fraction of the price.

Bit of a scam, go online, find the products and find a reliable local fitter it's only plywood and tiles!"

"We charge nowhere near those prices. Most conservatories are able to take the new warm roofs with no problems.

"Pricing would firstly depend on what it is exactly that you require as there are few different options. We are a conservatory specialist and would gladly run through your options. Many thanks, Stuart @ acorn home improvements."

"Hi. There are many types of warm roofs. To keep the cost down you can keep your old frame and build around it or replace the old frame with a new frame and more insulation. Hope this helps."

It all depends on the size of the roof and what you have there. We always recommend new frames too as the warm roofs are heavier than normal roofs and sometimes frames aren’t always made strong enough to hold the new roof. Plus issues with sealing from leaks.

If you let me know the size I can inform you better on price.
