Many reasons can impact the overall costs of a plumber, including your property's location and the job's complexity, but on average, you should budget between £200 to £350 per day. For an hourly rate, you can expect to pay between £35 to £55.
If you hire a large plumbing company, it may be more expensive than hiring a sole trader plumber, so this also needs to be taken into consideration if you need to stick to a budget.
The type and complexity of a job can have a big influence on the cost. For example, fixing a leaky sink may cost £30-£50, whilst installing a bathroom could cost anywhere from £1000 to £5000.

Hiring a plumber doesn’t have to be daunting; you’ve just got to know what to look for so you know you’re getting a professional, competent plumbing contractor.
Firstly, you can check whether a plumber has the right credentials. Look out for a Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ or diploma in plumbing. You don’t need qualifications to become a plumber; you can complete a plumbing apprenticeship and learn on the job instead – this is also worth looking out for.
Next, enquire whether they’re part of an accreditation program. For example, CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering) has a code of standards that accredited plumbers must follow.

Find a plumberAnything concerning drainage, water supply, and heating. If you need a new bathroom fitted, an unblocked drain, or a radiator moved, you need plumbers.
It’s best to ensure that the area the plumber is going to work is clean and clear of any items so they have space to work and also so no damage occurs to any of your belongings.
To buy a new radiator valve it cost around £10 to £30 – and to fit it will cost about £50. So, altogether you'll pay around £80 to replace a radiator valve.
Typically, a plumber will ask for payment after the job is complete. They should give you a quote beforehand so you know how much the job will cost.
You should contact an emergency plumber if you suspect any of the following:
1. A serious leak
2. Flooding
3. If you have no water
4. Frozen pipes
It’s best to hire a plumber to change taps, as if you try and do it yourself; something may go wrong and cost you more.
For an emergency plumber call out – you will be charged a flat-out fee between £120-£200 and then pay the plumber's hourly rate on top of that.
Plumber public liability insurance is the best insurance for a plumber. It will protect the plumber, the customer, and their property.
